Manning Elliott started life in 1985 as a small general architects practice in Keswick, Cumbria.  Since then we have grown to our current level of 11 staff comprising: 3 architects, 6 technical staff, an office manager / financial controller and an administrative assistant.

We are a general practice and our specialisms developed over the years are: housing; healthcare; commercial (offices, retail, public houses); sports & leisure; interior design.

Current Vacancies

Design Focussed Architect/ Architectural Assistant

We are looking for a candidate with good design and graphic presentation skills to work on design development work from inception to planning stages.

Ideally, someone with good hand drawing ability as well as the ability to use a wide range of software, such as SketchUp, Photoshop, Autocad and Revit plus good knowledge of a current CGI rendering package.

A sound knowledge of standard office suite of software would also be expected.

You can expect to work on a range of work including desktop studies, feasibility proposals, scheme design and planning packages i.e. Drawings, 3D Renders, Design and Access Statements.

We would want candidates to be able to demonstrate these abilities by providing a portfolio of work and a description of recent works and works in progress.

A keen eye for design and a flexible approach to a wide range of work is what we are after.

Ideally an architect but we will consider Part 1 and Part 2 Assistants also.

Project Architect/ Architectural Technologist.

We are also looking for candidates who can demonstrate ability in the technical delivery of projects to work from Planning Stages onwards.

Ideally, someone who understands design and construction and is able to develop designs from early stages to produce Building Regulations Packages,  Tender Packages, Production Information and also be able to demonstrate good communication skills working with contractors on site.

We would expect any candidate to have a working knowledge of Autocad and Revit as a minimum.

Familiarity with NBS Specification Writer and NBS Contract Administrator would be useful but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate construction information effectively and efficiently.

We would want candidates to be able to demonstrate these abilities by providing a portfolio of work and a description of recent works and works in progress.

For this post we would be looking for an RIBA qualified architect or Architectural Technologist who can demonstrate the required knowledge and skills.
