We are currently looking for Project Architects, Architectural Assistants and Architectural Technologists

We are a successful chartered architectural practice located in the heart of Cumbria serving a local and national client base with various projects situated across the UK. Our current project workload ranges from single private houses, business workshops, social housing, mass private housing, large private hospitals, hotels and licensed retail, and key strategic master planning. We are currently looking for suitably qualified energetic candidates to support our design office in both the design and the technical delivery aspects of our project work.

The two positions we are seeking to fill are:

1. Design Focused Architect/Architectural Assistant - salary commensurate with experience

2. Project Architect/Senior Architectural Technologist - salary commensurate with experience

 

1. Design Focused Architect/Architectural Assistant

We seek candidates with excellent graphic presentation skills to work individually and in a team on design development from inception through to planning stages, ideally with good hand drawing ability as well as the ability to use to a high standard a range of graphical software, such as SketchUp, Photoshop, AutoCAD and REVIT to expert standard and widespread experience of current CGI rendering packages and MS Office suite.

You can expect to work on a range of projects including desktop studies, feasibility proposals, final detail design and planning packages. Candidates need to be able to demonstrate these abilities by providing a printed portfolio of work with descriptions.  A keen eye and a flexible approach to embracing all facets design are key re-requisites of this role.

Ideally an ARB qualified architect but we will consider experienced Part 2 Assistants, also, who are seeking to conclude Part 3 / Professional Practice Completion.

2. Project Architect/Senior Architectural Technologist.

We also seek candidates who can demonstrate exceptional ability in the technical delivery of projects beyond Planning Stages. For this role, ideally someone who understands design and different construction and procurement methods and is able to develop and value engineer established designs to produce competent Building Regulations packages, Tender Packages, Production Information and Scheduling, and also be able to demonstrate good communication skills, working with contractors on site.

We would expect candidates to have an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT as a minimum and familiarity with NBS Specification Writer and NBS Contract Administrator software would be useful but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and within a framework to communicate technical construction data effectively and efficiently. We would expect candidates to be able to demonstrate these abilities by providing a portfolio of work along with a description of a range of successfully constructed projects.
