This project is a development of 15 two and three bedroom mixed terraced houses created for a Housing Association on the site of a former bakery unit. These properties are 100% affordable for the rental / shared ownership market. The site is located on the edge of the historic town centre within the conservation area. It is a site that historically was used for commercial and light industrial purposes but the surrounding area now is predominately solely residential. The design criterion and our approach reflected the principle importance of functionality, attractiveness & sustainability in well-designed homes & neighbourhoods. As a result of this attention to detail, a credit to the whole team, the development was given recognition when it was shortlisted in the category of ‘Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development’ at an award ceremony in 2015.
