This modern glass extension was added to a period house set within the New Streets conservation area in Penrith. The brief was to be sympathetic to the original building yet create a bespoke, contemporary design. Our client was keen to improve the connection to the mature garden, maintain the outlook from the kitchen but wanted to avoid the removal of existing trees. This contemporary extension was a finalist for Best Extension to an Existing Dwelling in the LABC Awards 2020.
